In the Gospel of John we find an account of some important individuals who were basking in the light of social recognition,they were so enthralled by their social positions and their status that they were ashamed of the Gospel which was preached to them...they "knew" what was preached about Christ was factual but because they did not want their social status to be disturbed,they did not want to be thrown out of "The Group,"they decided against proclaiming the truth of the Gospel to the Group.
The above can be confirmed by the following Scripture, John 10(42).."..the Chief Rulers many among them believed But did not confess Him BECAUSE of the Pharisees,lest they should be put out of the synagogue,for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God".
It is so very sad and ironic that the very thing that we have reason to shout about and boldly declare publicly is the very thing that we are ashamed to declare publicly.
Jesus Christ was not ashamed to go to the Cross for us to die for our sins, He was not ashamed to declare to us He will never leave nor forsake us, He was not ashamed to tell us and declare that if at any time we should become tired and frustrated with life we have a place of rest, we can find solace and comfort in Him because the peace He gives is not the peace that this world offers But His peace transcends human understanding His peace calms the storms in our lives, His peace takes us to a completely different level of understanding life, His peace removes the selfish veils from our eyes that we can behold and respect the awesome beauty of our God.
Jesus Christ "LIVED" love while He was here on earth,He offered His compassion to everyone which includes all mankind, He hung out with common every day people like you and me, He healed them when they were sick, He fed them when they were hungry, He restored broken, hurting people, He Understood their pains, their hurts, their disappointments, their failings, their inner turmoils and spiritual struggles, He listened and advised them with compassionate wisdom, He wept..He touched everyone He met with His divine love and forgiveness.
He discipled His followers to be like Him, He taught them to be un-selfish, He taught them to be forgiving, He taught them that He, Jesus Christ is the Way, the only Way that ALL MANKIND can be saved John 14 (6).. " I am the Way,the Truth and the Life "NO MAN"cometh unto the Father BUT BY ME".
He taught them humility..Yes He taught them that He is indeed King of Kings and Lord of Lords..that indeed He is the conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
Yes my friends, Jesus Christ was not ashamed to become our Shield and Buckler, He was not ashamed to become our constant Intercessor,our MIGHTY HIGH PRIEST that even when we still do sin we can find forgiveness in Him because He understands how frail our human nature is, all He wants us to do is confess our sins before Him and through His Awesome Love He will forgive us...oh my friends what an Awesome God we serve, we have so much to be thankful for, a God that gave us His Only Begotten Son, Yeshua our beloved Redeemer.
Yes, because of this awesome free Gift of Salvation, whenever we are struggling we can come boldly unto His Throne of Grace for help, in the book of Heb 4 (16) it says..." Let us come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need"
In closing let us keep our mind on the reality of Jesus Christ, the importance of His Message of Love and never be ashamed to declare Him as Lord not only with our mouths but by our lives, lived moment by moment..in the book Romans 1 (16) "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ,for It is the power of God unto salvation to EVERYONE that believeth..."
Let us close in prayer:
" Thank You Lord Jesus for being our Redeemer, for dying for our sins at Calvary for sealing our salvation with your precious Blood, anoint our minds oh Lord, that at all times through the power of Your Holy Spirit our lives will reflect the Fruits of Your Holy Spirit, fill us with Your boldness that we will never be ashamed to declare our faith in You especially in these times when satan is going to and fro trying to devour families and innocent minds.
Lord Jesus, fill us with Your power through Your Holy Spirit that we will go forth and declare Your Gospel Message of Good News to the lost...Amen"
